New CD “Clarinette omnitonique” has been released

On December 19, new Estonian CD “Clarinette omnitonique” will be presented in Estonian Radio White Hall. In June, clarinetist Toomas Vavilov, violinist Arvo Leibur, viola player Toomas Nestor and cellist Aare Tammesalu recorded music by Bernhard Crusell, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Iwan Müller – composer, clarinet virtuoso and clarinet maker born in Tallinn in 1786. Müller is considered to be one of the leading figure in clarinet history. On the CD there is a first recording of his Clarinet Quartet that was composed likely before 1820 and is an excellent example for demonstrating the possibilities of clarinette omnitonique.

CD was made in cooperation with Estonian Public Broadcasting, sound engineer is Maido Maadik. The release was supported by Cultural Endowment of Estonia, Pidula manor, Mustjala Music Festival, The State Forest Management Centre and Mustjala parish.
