Kirill Ogorodnikov is one of the leading Estonian classical guitarists of the young generation. His performance is characterized by a carefully selected repertoire, virtuosity, and noble tone color, as well as a balance of emotionality and intellectuality.

Kirill Ogorodnikov studied classical guitar at the Ahtme School of Arts and the Tallinn Georg Ots Music School with Tiit Peterson. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in the guitar class of Heiki Mätlik (2013) and earned his Master’s degree from the prestigious Cologne University of Music under the supervision of Prof. Gerhard Reichenbach (2015). He has participated in the master courses of Yves Storms, Martin Fogel, Johan Fostier, Roberto Aussel, Sérgio Assadi, Carlo Marchione, Eduardo Fernandez, and Sven Lundestad. He has successfully participated in international guitar competitions: in 2014, he was awarded the 3rd prize at the international guitar competition in Gevelsberg, Germany, and in 2010, the 2nd prize and a special prize from the Estonian classical music radio station Klassikaraadio at the Tallinn international guitar competition.

Kirill Ogorodnikov performs both as a soloist and chamber musician. He has appeared in several festivals in Estonia and SaitenReise Gitarrenfestival in Germany and cooperated with prominent Estonian musicians (Jelena Ossipova, Jekaterina Danilova, Deniss Golubjov, Leonora Palu, Iris Oja) and ensembles, such as Tallinn Guitar Quartet, and the contemporary music ensembles Ensemble U: and YXUS Ensemble, and many others. He has appeared twice as a soloist with the Pärnu City Orchestra, performing the Guitar Concerto by Heitor Villa-Lobos (2010) and premiering the Guitar Concerto by Estonian composer Gennadi Taniel.

Kirill Ogordonikov’s wide repertoire includes original works and transcriptions from Baroque to the present day, e.g. new Russian music and contemporary works by Estonian composers (Peeter Vähi, Tõnu Kõrvits, Robert Jürjendal, Ester Mägi). Additionally, he has given the premiere performances of solo guitar works dedicated to him by René Eespere (Twelve in Seven and Inventum) and Lauri Jõeleht (Sonata a la Arpa). In 2017, Kirill Ogorodnikov premiered his arrangements of romances by Pyotr Tchaikovsky with mezzo-soprano Iris Oja.

Together with Heli Ernits, Kirill Ogorodnikov belongs to the unique chamber music ensemble Duo Telluur. Ensemble, founded in 2015, features English Horn and classical guitar. It has performed in several concert venues in Estonia and toured in Germany and Russia. Duo Telluur is focusing on commissioning pieces by contemporary composers and arrangings for the ensemble.

Kirill Ogorodnikov teaches guitar at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, the Tallinn Georg Ots Music School, and the Tallinn Music High School. Additionally, he serves as a jury member of youth guitar competitions and holds guitar masterclasses at the children's music schools.
