Puuluup and VHK String Orchestra

The „hiiu kannel“, also recognized as the Swedish lyre, bowed lyre, or talharpa, is an instrument steeped in history. Originating in the British Isles during the 11th century, it likely made its way to Estonia via Scandinavia, primarily finding a home on the island of Vormsi. Therefore, this concert presents a unique encounter where the instruments of a classically structured string orchestra meet their ancient predecessors. Historical concepts are subverted, with the new becoming old and the old, new.
