Aule Urb

Aule Urb began her singing studies in 2010 in the singing class of Jaakko Ryhänen and obtained her master’s degree cum laude with Eva Wilson-Märtson in 2017. Within the programme PLMF (Pille Lill Music Fund), she studied at the Accademia del Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti” (2012). She also studied within the Erasmus programme at the Sibelius Academy in 2014–2015. Since the autumn of 2015, she is a member of the Estonian National Opera Chorus.
 
In addition to singing, she also organizes school, chamber, and gala concerts bringing together young Estonian mezzo-sopranos under the collective name Metsikud Mezzod. In 2017, singers Atlan Karp and Aivar Kaseste founded the non-profit organization Opera Veto, the goal of which is to bring chamber operas to the stage. Since 2020, she is part of the organizing team of the Vello Jürna competition.
 
Since the fall of 2015, she has been working as a choral artist and soloist at the Estonian National Opera.

Apart from opera and large forms, chamber music also has an important place in her repertoire. In recent years, her stage partners have been Anneli Tohver and Mariin Aavik (Gill). With the latter, they have performed together several times after winning the 1st prize at the EMTA song-duos competition in 2015: Poetry in Music - Maria Stuart's songs (concert production - directed by Neeme Kuningas), Metsikud Mezzod and gypsy songs with mezzo-soprano Tuuri Dede, and in January 2019 the concert A Glance at the New Year (Pilk uude aastasse), where Elgar's Sea Pictures and Britten's A Charm of Lullabies were on the program.
 
Aule has participated in the Klaudia Taev singing competition (semi-finalist), in the national vocalists’ competition dedicated to Vello Jürna (3rd place) and the Mart Saar competition (2nd place). In 2017, she was a scholarship holder of the Estonian Richard Wagner Society.
