Tõnu Kaljuste conducts the Swedish Radio Choir and the concert of Arvo Pärt’s music at the Baltic Sea Festival

, Tõnu Kaljuste conducts the concert of Swedish Radio Choir at the Baltic Sea Festival in Berwaldhallen, Stockholm. The concert „MS Estonia in Memoriam“ that will be live-streamed to Arvo Pärt Centre remembers and honours the victims of the tragic accident of ferry and passenger vessel M/S Estonia in 1994. Before the concert, a conversation about the sea and the music between the Estonian marine scientist, Professor Tarmo Soomere and the Estonian TV programme leader Joonas Hellerma will be live-streamed to Stockholm from Arvo Pärt Centre.

On August 29, Tõnu Kaljuste conducts the concert „Music of All Colours“ of Arvo Pärt’s music. The performers are Maria Listra (soprano), Marrit Gerretz-Traksmann (piano), Harry Traksmann (violin), Robert Traksmann (violin), Leho Karin (cello), and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. The programme includes works such as „Für Alina“, „Fratres“, „Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten“, „Trisagion“, „L’abbé Agathon“, „Spiegel im Spiegel“, „Tabula rasa“, and „Vater unser“.

The Baltic Sea Festival takes place from August 24 to 31. The Artistic Director of the Baltic Sea Festival is Esa-Pekka Salonen.
