"The New Jerusalem" by Andres Uibo in Moscow

  On November 22, the concert, which will take place at 7.30 pm at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of Holy Virgin Mary, will feature once again Andres Uibo’s symphony The New Jerusalem for mixed choir, organ and symphony orchestra (2012). The work will be performed by Radio Orfei Symphony Orchestra and mixed choir Blagovest under the baton of Andrei Jakovlev. Uibo will be attending the performance as well. The project is supported by Estonian Ministry of Culture, European Fund for the Integration of Third-Country Nationals and the Integration and Migration Foundation Our People (MISA).

The world premiere of the symphony took place at the same venue and with the same performers on January 7 in 2013 and was recorded on DVD. This time The New Jerusalem will reach on CD.

Symphony The New Jerusalem is based on Apocalypsis Symphony for organ composed in 2003 and 2004. The text is based on the Book of the Revelation of St. John, chapter 21, verses 1, 3, 4, and 10. Symphony is in 4 movements: Then I saw..., And I heared..., He will wipe every tear... and The New Jerusalem....
