Tallinn Chamber Orchestra performs with oboist Kalev Kuljus

Concerts of Tallin Chamber Orchestra and oboist Kalev Kuljus will take place on 6th of March at Vanemuine Concert Hall and 8th of March at Estonia Concert Hall. Programme entitled „First and last symphony of Mozart“ comprise Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No 1 K. 16, Oboe Concerto in C major K. 314 and Symphony No 41 “Jupiter” K. 551. Conductor is Risto Joost.

Estonian renowned oboist Kalev Kuljus currently plays the solo oboe with Hamburg NDR orchestra. He has studied at Estonian Academy of Music with Heldur Värv, Andres Siitan and Olev Ainomäe, at the Lyon National Conservatory under the guidance of Jean-Christophe Gayot’ and Guy Laroche and Music University Karlsruhe with Thomas Indermühle. In addition Kuljus has participated in the master classes of Aale Lindgren, Georg Meerwein, Lajos Lencsés, Hansjörg Schellenberger, Maurice Bourgue, Stefan Schill and Jacques Tys.

Kalev Kuljus has collaborated with Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, NYYD Ensemble, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Hortus Musicus Academic Orchestra and a number of foreign orchestras and ensembles – Finnish-Estonian Symphony Orchestra, Heidelberg Sinfoniker, Orchestre de Chamber de Lyon, Berlin Philharmoniker, München Philharmoniker, Deutsche Sinfonie-Orkester Berlin, Akademisches Orchester UNI Freiburg, Nordic Symphony Orchestra and others. Many Estonian composers have dedicated their works to Kalev Kuljus such as Mari Vihmand La Question, Helena Tulve Guard, Tõnu Kõrvits Wildflower and Mart Siimer Shadows in the Snow. He has made recordings for Estonian Radio and Finlandia Records.
