Tallinn Chamber Music Festival

From August 24 to 31, concert venues in Tallinn will be filled with copious music program and outstanding musicians.

Festival starts on August 24 at 7 pm with the concert performance of opera L'Orfeo. Immagini di una lontananza in Tallinn St. John’s Church. This is an arrangement of Luigi Rossi´s opera made by Italian composer Daniela Terranova, premiered only several weeks ago in Martina Franca, Italy. Together with Italian and Bulgarian opera soloists also Estonian singers Kristel Pärtna (Euridice) and Kristel Kurik (Orfeo) will appear on the stage.

Eight chamber concerts in Tallinn Town Hall, Hopner House and St. Michael Swedish Church present Estonian top musicians: Sigrid Kuulmann (violin), Johanna Vahermägi (viola), cellists Andreas Lend and Henry-David Varema, Oksana Sinkova (flute), Madis Kari (clarinet), Irina Zahharenkova (piano) and many others. Also many guests can be listened: Magdalena Filipczak (violin, Poland), Ula Ulijona (viola, Lithuania), Kama Grott (oboe, Poland), Anna Maria McElwain (harpsichord, Findland/U.S.A.), Michael Tsalka (piano, Israel/Sweden) and Geraldine Casanova (soprano, France).

On August 24 and 25, festival tent is opened at Vabaduse Square, where on the hours between 12 pm and 6.30 pm free concerts of music school students may be enjoyed, also tickets, CD-s and literature are available.

The artistic director of festival is opera singer Pille Lill.
