Woldemar Schütz

Organist and composer Woldemar Schütz was born as the son of a sexton in Kuusalu. He studied the organ with Ernst Reinicke, the organist of the Tallinn Dome Church, then at the Leipzig Conservatory and from 1897 at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, where he graduated from Louis Homilius's organ class in 1899. He worked as a piano teacher in Tallinn (including Alice Segal and Heinrich Stuckey's private music school), organist (including 1906–1908 in Pärnu) and choir conductor. He private lessons and performed organ concerts. Woldemar Schütz has composed choral and solo songs and piano works.
