Organ of Dome Church in Tallinn celebrates its 100th anniversary

Form August 20 to 24, 100th anniversary of Tallinn Dome Church’s organ will be celebrated with Organ Week “Ladegast-Sauer Organ 100 Years”. The program of Organ Week consists of 6 concerts and festive mass.

Organ Week begins with gala concert “Sauer Organ 100. Music of the Period the Organ Was Born” on August 20 at 6 pm, featuring organists Kristel Aer, Piret Aidulo, Maris Oidekivi-Kaufmann, Kersti Petermann, Kadri Ploompuu, Aaro Tetsmann and Tiit Kiik.

On August 21 at 7 pm, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Excitatio ad contemplandum (1996) for 4 voices or mixed choir and organ will receive its Estonian premiere by organist Ines Maidre and saxophone quartet SaxEst. On August 24 at 11 am, Toomas Trass’s brand new Missa de Angelis will be premiered by Toomas Trass (organ) and choirs of Tallinn churches under the guidance of Veljo Reier.

Organ Week will also feature organists Tobias Horn (Germany), Markku Hietaharju (Finland), Pekka Suikanen (Filand) and Cœur de Barytons (Finland).
