Music of Erkki-Sven Tüür in European, Middle East and American concert halls

In April, music of Erkki-Sven Tüür can be listened in Israel, Latvia, Germany, Sweden, USA and Estonia.

Lamentatio for saxophone quartet was in the program of Meitar Ensemble concert in The Israel Conservatory of Music, Tel Aviv on April 3. Lighthouse for string orchestra was performed in Klaipėda Concert Hall, Latvia on April 5, at the concert of Sinfonietta Rīga under the baton of Normunds Šnē. From April 5 to 8, Tüür’s The Path and the Traces was played at the concert Gewaltakt by Ensemble Reflektor under the direction of Thomas Klug for four evenings in Germany:

Gruenspan, Hamburg (5.04), Halle 424-s, Hamburg (6.04), FORUM der Musikschules, Lüneburg (7.04) ja Kühlhaus, Berlin (8.04). Tüür’s Cello Concerto was performed by young cellist Theodor Sink together with Estonian National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kristiina Poska on April 7 at Estonia Concert Hall within the Estonian Music Days. The symphonic concert „Silence of the North Wind“ presented also premieres of works by Tauno Aints, Liisa Hirsch and Timo Steiner as well as the 4th Symphony of Lepo Sumera.

On April 23, Kristiina Poska will be in front of Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra in Helsingborg Concert Hall, conducting Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Symphony No. 8. Olari Elts conducts this week concerts in Seattle with Seattle Symphony Orchestra (April 13 and 15), program including Sergey Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Symphonic Dances, Op. 45 and the U.S. premiere of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s De Profundis. Insula deserta for strings will be performed by Nürnberger Symphoniker in Nürnberg Meistersingerhalles on April 29, conductor is Lars Vogt.
