Marge Uus
b. March 29, 1984, Tallinn

Marge Uus started her violin studies at the age of 4 with Aino Riikjärv. From 1991–2003, she studied at the Tallinn Music High School in the violin class of Aino Riikjärv. She continued her violin studies under the supervision of Prof. Urmas Vulp at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, earning her Bachelor’s degree in 2009 and Master’s degree in 2010. As the scholarship holder of the International Holland Music Sessions, she has participated in the master courses of Rudolf Koelmann and Anatoli Reznikovsky in the Netherlands in 2005.

Marge Uus has won several prizes at national competitions, including 2nd prize at the Bach competition in Tallinn (2000) and 1st prize three times (2005 + all special awards, 2001, 1999) and 2nd prize twice (2003, 1997) at the ESTA Estonia national competition for young string players.

Since 2007, Marge Uus is a member of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, holding the position of Associate Principal Violin since 2009. Additionally, she has worked in the Lapland Chamber Orchestra in Finland (2010–2011) and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra (2005–2013). She has also performed with the Nordic Symphony Orchestra, the Estonian Festival Orchestra, the Pärnu City Orchestra, the Estonian National Youth Symphony Orchestra, and several project orchestras.

As a soloist, Marge Uus has performed with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, the Pärnu City Orchestra, the Haapsalu City Orchestra, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Symphony Orchestra, and the Tallinn Music High School Symphony Orchestra under conductors such as Jüri Alperten, Eri Klas, Paul Mägi and others. She also gives chamber music concerts in different chamber ensembles and with acknowledged musicians.
