Kuressaare Chamber Music Days

From August 5 to 9, 14th Kuressaare Chamber Music Days will take place on the island of Saaremaa. Within a week, chamber music festival with the longest tradition in Estonia, presents six concerts in different chamber halls in Kuressaare city. In addition to Estonian top interpreters, notable soloists and ensembles from abroad will perform.

On August 5 at 7 pm, Andres Paas (piano), Miina Järvi (violin) and Marius Järvi (cello) will give a concert in Kuressaare Culture Centre. Program consists of piano trios by Franz Joseph Haydn and Anton Arenski and Eduard Tubin’s Saxophone Sonata (version for cello and piano).

On August 6 at 10 pm, saxophone quartet SaxEst (Virgo Veldi, Ivo Lille, Lauri Sepp, Sulev Sommer) will perform in Ritter Hall of Rüütli SPA Hotel. Quartet’s repertoire ranges from Baroque till today, including Galina Grigorjeva’s work.

Also there will be concerts of Polish pianist Szczepan Kończal and Corsican vocal sextet Tempvs Fvgit on August 7 and flamenco performance “El Corazón Abierto” (With an Open Heart) from Spain on August 8. Festival will end with the concert of Čiurlionis Quartet from Lithuania.
