Kaia Urb and Heiki Mätlik to perform Estonian vocal music

On February 23, soprano Kaia Urb and guitarist Heiki Mätlik will give a concert entitled Estonian Romance. Yearning at Toompea Music Salon at 4 pm. This concert is organised by concert agency Corelli Music. The program consists of selection of romances by Estonian composers – music by classics Miina Härma, Mihkel Lüdig, August Weizenberg, Konstantin Türnpu and Artur Lemba, alongside newer vocal music by Ester Mägi, Eino Tamberg, Kuldar Singk and Margo Kõlar. Also solo songs by Estonian diplomat and amateur composer August Johannes Torma (1895–1971) will be premiered. The same program has been recorded on CD Yearning (2012) giving the same title to the concert.

The long-lasting collaboration between Kaia Urb and Heiki Mätlik began over 20 years ago. They have released together five CDs. Duo’s next concerts of Russian romances will take place in March at Kõltsu Manor and Alatskivi Castle.
