

Jubilee festival brings to Estonia many acknowledged jazz musicians from USA, Europe and Africa: saxophonist Marius Neset Quartet (Norway), a young French songwriter, singer and musician Nina Attali, Portico Quartet (UK), Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, Las Migas (Spain), Edmar Castaneda Trio (Columbia), James Dalton (USA), French pianist and composer Stephan Oliva, Israeli trumpetist Avishai Cohen with Andres Mustonen Jazzquartet (Andres Mustonen – violin, Jaak Sooäär – guitar, Taavo Remmel – double bass, Tanel Ruben – drums), Swiss modern jazz trio VEIN with saxophonist Greg Osby (USA), trumpetist Nils Landgren & JazzBaltica Ensemble, Susana Sawoffi Trio (Austria), duo Mount Kimbie (UK), live-ensemble The Hi-Fly Orchestra and two musicians from the absolute top of jazz music today – guitarist Pat Metheny with his Unity Group and singer Cassandra Wilson from USA.

Alongside guest performers, Jazzkaar features Estonian musicians like duo Eplik-Randalu, young jazz musicians Erki Pärnoja, Kadri Voorand, Sofia Rubina, Peedu Kass, Joel Remmel, Kaspar Kalluste and Holger Marjamaa, ensemble Abraham’s Café, Kadri Voorand Group, Tõnu Naisso Trio, chamber jazz project by saxophonist Maria Faust and others.
The program of the festival also offers concerts for children, program of music films, photo exhibitions and pop-up concerts.
The initiator, chief organiser and artistic director of Jazzkaar is Anne Erm, Producer at radio Eesti Raadio. The aim of the Festival is to offer a broad selection of music from avant-garde tendencies to mainstream-jazz, but also the more interesting levels of world music and blues.
