The concerts of Baltic Music Festival in St. John’s Church in St. Petersburg in May

 

 

In May, series Baltic Music Festival in St. John’s Church in St. Petersburg launched together with the reopening of the St. John’s Church, will come to the end. Festival which started in March, has presented various concerts with different performers. May offers altogether three choral, orchestral and jazz music concerts. Festival is organised by the State Concert Institute Eesti Kontsert.

On May 5 at 7 pm, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, conducted by Daniel Reuss will perform Arvo Pärt’s Kanon pokajanen (1996).

Jaak Sooäär

On May 12 at 7 pm, pianist Andrei Kondakov and guitarist Jaak Sooäär can be heard playing jazz music program, evening will be hosted by jazz music critic Vladimir Feyertag (St. Petersburg).


Estonian National Symphony Orchestra

The last concert of the festival on May 19 at 7 pm, will feature Estonian National Symphony Orchestra under the guidance of Nikolai Alexeev. In addition to music by Samuel Barber, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert, also Heino Ellers’s Homeland Tune will be performed.
