The Netherlands Chamber Choir sings Northern European program in Holland

From April 12 to 19, The Netherlands Chamber Choir under the baton of its chief conductor Risto Joost will perform program entitled In Scandinavian Circles – program in which pagan and Christian rites struggle for precedence. Concert features choral music by composers from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania – Sven-David Sandström’s „Hear my prayer, o Lord“, Veljo Tormis’s „The Bishop and the Pagan“ and „Curse upon Iron“, Uģis Prauliņš’s „Laudibus in Sanctis“, Knut Nystedt’s „Immortal Bach“, Bo Holten’s „The Marriage of Heaven and Hell“ and Pēteris Vasks’s „Mother Teresa Prayer“.

Concerts will be held on April 12 at concert house De Harmonie in Leeuwarden, April 15 at Musis Sacrum in Arnhem, April 16 at church Aa-Kerk in Groningen, April 17 at St. Peter’s Church in Utrecht and April 18 at Amsterdam Musiekgebouw and April 19 at New Church in Hague.

These concerts mark Risto Joost’s farewell as the choir’s chief conductor of Netherlands Chamber Choir. He has hold this post since season 2011/2012.
