Concerts of Glasperlenspiel Sinfonietta in Greece

From December 13 to 15, Glasperlenspiel Sinfonietta under the baton of conductor William Kunhardt (UK) will give three concerts in Greece. Concerts will be held on December 13 and 14 at Piraeus Municipal Theatre and December 15 at Parnassos Hallis in Athens. The first and third concert will present music by Antonio Vivaldi, Georg Friedrich Händel and Ottorino Respighi. The soloists will be soprano Arete Teemets and counter tenor Nikos Spanatis (Greece). The second concert on December 14, will feature Illusion by Erkki-Sven Tüür and music by Ástor Piazzolla, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Edvard Grieg. The soloist will be violinist Hugo Ticciati (UK/Sweden).

Concerts will take place within the grandiose Piraeus Sinfonia Festival. A new, modern, dynamic and pioneering festival was born in Attica putting the city of Piraeus and the Saronic islands on the international cultural map. Since September 2012 and until the end of 2015, over 80 events have been programmed, 15 symphonic concerts, 11 with chamber orchestras, 25 with chamber ensembles, 15 educational projects and lots of others, including homage concerts to the great composers, commemoration concerts and celebrating Christmas musical dramas.
