Season opening concerts of Vanemuine Concert Hall and Pärnu Concert Hall

On September 19 season 2014/2015 opening concerts will take place at Vanemuine Concert Hall and Pärnu Concert Hall. Both concerts in Tartu and Pärnu will start at 7 pm.

At Vanemuine Concert Hall in Tartu will perform Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, Vanemuine Opera Choir and Tartu Youth Choir under the baton of Paul Mägi, Aile Asszonyi (soprano, Estonian National Opera), Aldo Caputo (tenor, Italy), Jânis Apeinis (baritone, Latvian National Opera). On the program will be César Franck’s Symphony in D minor and Charles Gounod’s St Cecilia Mass. At 5.30 also new CD with composer Eduard Tubin’s opera The Parson of Reigi will be presented at the foyer of the theatre. The musical director and conductor of the recording is Paul Mägi, the main roles on the CD are performed by Jassi Zahharov (Estonian National Opera), Karmen Puis and Mati Turi.


 Peeter Laul

The Estonian National Symphony Orchestra’s  concert will take place at Pärnu Concert Hall under the baton of Felix Koborov (Moscow), soloist will be Peeter Laul (piano, Russia). The program consists of  overture King Stephen and Piano Concerto No.1 by Ludwig van Beethoven, Divertismen and Suite Symphonique "Paris" by Jacques Ibert and Pavane for a Dead Princess by Maurice Ravel.
