Erkki-Sven Tüür’s orchestral works in Finland

In the near future, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s accordion concerto Prophecy and Salve Regina for violin and orchestra will be performed at the concerts in Finland, soloists will be Mika Väyrynen (accordion) and Andres Mustonen (violin, conductor).

On March 7, Mika Väyrynen together with Lahti Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Okko Kamu will perform Tüür’s accordion concerto Prophecy (2007). At he concert in Lahti Sibelius Hall, also Joseph Haydn’s overture to an opera The Deserted Island and Hector Berlioz’s Fantastic Symphony will be presented.

Salve Regina (2005/2012) for violin and orchestra can be listened on March 24 in Joensuu Church, where Joensuu City Orchestra will give a concert with Andres Mustonen who is being both violinist and conductor. Beside Händel, Bach and Mozart, the program includes also Arvo Pärt’s Da pacem Domine (2004/2006).
