Mihkel Kütson conducts Pärt’s Symphony No. 4

 

On January 7 and 8, Arvo Pärt’s Symphony No. 4 Los Angeles will be performed in Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall by Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Estonian musician Mihkel Kütson – Generalmusikdirektor of Landestheater und Sinfonieorchester Schleswig-Holstein. Work dedicated to Mikhail Khodorkovsky was written in 2008 and has received already 40 performances at several places in the world. Last year the symphony was released on CD by ECM (with Los Angeles Philharmonic and conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen).

Concerts in Warsaw present also Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 and Sergei Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2 (soloist Vadim Gluzman). Honorary Patronage of the concert is Ambassador of Estonia – Taavi Toom.
