Peeter Vähi’s piece in the programme of Duo Nuances

On April 10, Duo Nuances concert will take place in Germany, Pfarrkirche St. Johannes Nepomuk Burgsteinfurt where along with music by Tōru Takemitsu, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Enrique Granados and Astor Piazzolla also Peeter Vähi’s Mystical Uniting for flute and guitar (1998) will be perfomed. The same piece was recently released on duo’s CD inspiring the album’s name as well (Uniting). Ensemble is dedicated to music of 20th and 21th century, its members are Anke Kreuz (flute) and Achim Busch (guitar).

Currently Vähi is composing works that wil be premiered at International Sacred Music Festival Rīga and in the program of Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011: oratorio Mary Magdalene Gospel for mixed choir Latvija, music to concert-performance People of the Sea and Bronze Reflections for handchime ensemble and cathedral carrilons.
