XIX Suure-Jaani Music Festival

From June 17 to 23, festival dedicated to Kapp family will take place in Suure-Jaani.  Traditional concerts are complemented by exhibition, musical church service and and lunch hours in the cafe Arturi Juures (At Arthur’s), where interpreters and composers perform music as well as speak about their work. The highlight of the festival has been the sunrise concert held at three o’clock at night on the Hüpassaare bog island that can be reached by a boardwalk. On June 22, festival’s artistic director Andres Uibo will celebrate his 60th birthday with a grandiose concert in the Hall of Suure-Jaani School: Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and State Choir Latvia will perform his Symphony No. 1 and Mozart’s Requiem, conductor is Darrell Ang. Festival consists of nearly 30 events including composition competition and competition for young singers. Festival is organized by Suure-Jaani parish, it’s artistic director is composer and organist Andres Uibo.
