Chamber choir Voces Musicales performs with 1000 choral singers at gala concert conducted by Andres Mustonen in Brussels

From November 5 to 9, chamber choir Voces Musicales will participate in grand musical project „1000 Voices for Peace“ marking 100 years since the beginning of World War One.

Musical project „1000 Voices for Peace“ unites singers from all over the world. From November 5 to 9, 17 concerts, featuring choirs from Great Britain, Thailand, Hungary, Australia, Holland, Germany, Croatia, Canada, Malta, Ireland, Poland, Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia and Belgium will be held at different concert venues in Belgium. More than 1000 singers from countries that were involved in the World War One a hundred years ago are now standing side by side.

A week of meeting and singing together will end with final concert, conducted by Andres Mustonen on November 9 at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart (Koekelberg Basilica). All singers, including chamber choir Voces Musicals, together with Brussels Philharmonic will perform music by Tan Dun, Ola Gjeilo, Sofia Gubaidulina and André Devaere. Additionally, Dies Illa by Krzysztof Penderecki will be premiered. This work symbolises the message hope and is dedicated to all victims of the World War One.
