The LAB Orchestras’ concert „Take a Seat“

An old factory hall. Empty. In the middle of the room is the stage for the orchestra. This is the scenery for the LAB Orchestra’s spring concert on May 21 at 19 pm. It will be a kind of club concert which gives the audience opportunity to listen music from any place in the hall, to move meanwhile the orchestra plays and change different perspectives of listening. In the program will be music for string orchestra, which fits to the spring mood in northern countries –  a bit romantic, a bit melancholic, but also cheerful and already looking forward to summer days. The concert will take place at concert venue Telliskivi Loomelinnak, in the “Green hall” (Roheline Saal, building “B”).

The program:
Edvard Grieg –  “Two Elegiac Melodies”, op. 34
Pyotr Tchaikovsky –  Serenade for String Orchestra C-major, op.48
Wojciech Kilar –  “Orawa”

The LAB Orchestra is the new youth orchestra project in Estonia. Its aim is to find new forms of music performances, of creation and musical expressivity, to strengthen classical music in the modern society. The character is open. So it is less an orchestra and more of a forum, a pool of young musicians. With the project young talented musicians have also the opportunity to perform concerts and present their musical ability regularly to an audience.
