Kwintessens gives a concert of Estonian music in the Netherlands

Dutch chamber choir Kwintessens has put together a program of Estonian music titled as Bridge of Song that contains works by Veljo Tormis, Arvo Pärt, Pärt Uusberg and Lithuanian composer Vytautas Miškinis. Choir will perform twice in churches in Hague: on May 17 in Agneskerk and May 24 in Noorderkerk. In April, the same program was performed also in Estonia where concerts took place in Tallinn and Tartu together with Estonian chamber choir Head Ööd, Vend. The tour of „Bridge of Song“ took the choir also to Riga, when Latvian composers were in central place of the program. Choir is conducted by Raoul Boesten.

Kwintessens was founded in 2005 and focuses on contemporary choral music. Composers like Arvo Pärt, Eric Whitacre and John Tavener are regularly in their program. The choir considers one of the highlight events of their history the concerts Adam’s Lament in April 2013, when 1300 people came to listen the music of Tõnu Kõrvits and Arvo Pärt.
