Ensemble Blumina

On 6h of April Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Oboe Concerto in C Major will be performed by Estonian oboist Kalev Kuljus and Schleswig-Holstein Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Peter Sommerer. The program also consists of works by Christoph Willibald Gluck and Franz Schubert. 

Concerts of Ensemble Blumina will take place on April 4 in Stade and April 5 in Villa Papendorf, Rostock. Ensemble Blumina comprise musicians Kalev Kuljus (oboe), Elisaveta Blumina (piano) and Mathias Baier (bassoon). The program consists of trios by composers André Previn, Jean Francaix and Francis Poulenc, also Robert Schumann’s Fantasy Pieces op.73 and Eugène Bozza’s Fantaisie pastorale for Oboe and Piano, Op.37.

Ensemble Blumina, founded in 2008, has a special interest in the performance and rediscovery of music off the beaten mainstream path. Examples include compositions by Jewish composers (“Verfemte Musik”) such as Erwin Schulhoff, Mauricio Kagel, Alexandre Tansman and works by Mieczyslav Weinberg, whose chamber music is currently being recorded by Elisaveta Blumina in a major CD series. The ensemble has already released CD with works by Andre Previni, Jean Francaix and Francis Poulenc.
