Quartet SaxEst performes at Estonia Concert Hall.

Quartet SaxEst will give concert dedicated to ensemble’s 15th birthday on 25th of March at Estonia Concert Hall. The programme consists of music by Giovanni Bolzoni, Carl Maria von Weber, Enjott Schoneider ect. SaxEst comprise musicians Ivo Lille (alto saxophone), Virgo Veldi (alto saxophone), Lauri Sepp (tenor saxophone) and Sulev Sommer (baritone saxophone). Concert features also Ulla Krigul (organ) and Madis Kari (clarinet).



Quartet SaxEst is ensemble founded in 1999. The ensemble’s repertoire consists of various music including transcriptions from the Baroque and Classical era, original works from different world composers, Estonian and world contemporary music, also jazz and soul. Special place at the ensemble’s repertoire has works by Estonian composers including Tõnu Kõrvits, Galina Grigorjeva, Ester Mägi, Kristjan Kõrver ect. SaxEst has released two CD-s: in 2003 the classical music CD “Collocutio” and in 2009 the Christmas music CD “ My Gift to You” with James Werts, who is a singer and bass player. Quartet SaxEst has collaborated with many different soloists including Irina Zahharenkova (piano), Ulla Krigul (organ), Virgo Sillamaa (guitar), Madis Kari (clarinet), Siim Aimla (saxophone), Yaroslava Kozina (vocal), James Werts (vocal) and Meribel Müürsepp (vocal). Quartet SaxEst has performed all over Estonia with great success for full audiences. They have participated at music festivals as Tallinn Chamber Music Festival, Estonian Music Days, Tallinn Music Week, Nargen Festival etc.
