Annual Awards of Estonian Choral Association

On January 25, Estonian Choral Association handed over its annual prizes in traditional concert-ceremony in Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn. Prize winners were selected among 87 nominees by Music Council of Estonian Choral Association.

Chamber Choir Head Ööd, Vend was awarded The Choir of the Year (conductors Pärt Uusberg and Külli Kiivet), the choir’s CD „Õhtul“ („In the Evening“) was selected as the Choir Recording of the Year. The second title of the Choir of the Year was ascribed to Saaremaa Male Choir SÜM (conductors Mari Ausmees and Ester Soe). The conductor of the Estonia Society Mixed Choir and chorus-master of Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir Heli Jürgenson was announced The Conductor of the Year.

Wind Orchestra of the Year
– Georg Ots Tallinn Music School Wind Orchestra (conductor Sirly Illak-Oluvere)

Conductor of the Year
– Heli Jürgenson

Conductor-Music Teacher of the Year
– Janne Fridolin

Young Conductor of the Year
– Maarja Helstein

– Suure-Jaani Parish

Organiser of the Year – Kaie Tanner, Sander Tamm

Deed of the Year
