Estonia Theatre and Concert House Anniversary Festival

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On September 6, one hundred years will pass from the opening of the Estonia theatre and concert house. From 6 to 20 September, the 100th anniversary of the building will be celebrated with a festival Estonian Theatre and Concert House 100, organized in cooperation with the Estonian National Opera, State Concert Institute Eesti Kontsert, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.

The grand festival offers concerts of large-scale vocal works with symphony orchestra, choral music, symphonic music, chamber music, jazz and Estonian traditional music (including premieres by Tõnis Kaumann, Vaiko Eplik, Robert Jürjendal, Raul Sööt and  Tauno Aints), opera performances (including world premiere of new opera Butterfly by Tõnu Kõrvits), ballet galas, activities and concerts dedicated to children and youngsters, excursions in the theatre house, public rehearsals (Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir), grandiose theatre market outside the Estonia theatre and concert house, etc.

Festival Estonian Theatre and Concert House 100 features Estonian National Opera, Estonian National Ballet and Latvian National Ballet, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra with Neeme Järvi, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Estonian National Male Choir, eraly music ensemble Hortus Musicus with Andres Mustonen, Theatre Varius, jazz musicians Paul Shigihara – Jaak Sooäär, James Lampi – Tanel Ruben, Kadri Voorand, Virgo Sillamaa and ensemble Kirsiõied, etc.
