9th Tallinn Chamber Music Festival

Tallinn Chamber Music Festival takes place from August 21 to 29 and offers nine concerts at Swedish St. Michael’s Church, Tallinn Town Hall, St. John’s Church and Hopner House. Program includes two student concerts with free admission: on August 21 and August 22 at 3 pm in Swedish St. Michael’s Church.

The opening concert will take place on August 21 in town hall, performers are Oksana Sinkova (flute) and Petr Nouzovský (cello, Czech) with the music of Schubert, Franck, Martinů and Gnattali. Festival celebrates two anniversaries: Lutosławski 100 (August 24 at Tallinn Town Hall) and Britten 100 – at the festival’s final concert on August 29 in St. John’s Church, where Camerata Nordica (string orchestra from Sweden), Catherine Bullock (viola, UK) and Oksana Sinkova (flute) will play music by Britten, Mercadante, Tippett and Walton. At the concert, Marje and Kuldar Sink Award „Young Singer 2013“ will be given out for the ninth time.

Festival presents a number of Estonian musicians like Oksana Sinkova (flute), Irina Zahharenkova (piano), the new and innovative Estonian LAB Orchestra, Johanna Vahermägi (viola), Andreas Lend (cello), Age Juurikas (piano), René Soom (baritone), Sigrid Kuulmann (violin), Marko Martin (piano), Tiia Tenno (organ), Henry-David Varema (cello), Arete Teemets (soprano), Ralf Taal (piano), Danae Taamal (violin), Marten Altrov (clarinet) and Maksim Štšura (piano).

The initiator and artistic director of the festival is Pille Lill.
