Tõnu Kõrvits’s new piece at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw

On April 14, Tõnu Kõrvits’s trio for bassoon, baritone saxophone and marimba entitled Lamentations on the Theme B-A-C-H will be premiered at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. New piece will be performed by Ties Mellema (saxophone), Bram van Sambeek (bassoon) and Koen Plaetinck (marimba). Concert Pure Bach is dedicated to music by Johann Sebastian Bach and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, arranged by Ties Mellema and Bram van Sambeek. Ties Mellema is also a member of Dutch saxophone ensemble Amstel Quartet that has previously recorded Kõrvits’s Assignation on their CD and first performed Sketches of Thule for saxophone quartet and organ.

 

 

Concert will take place on April 14 at 2.15 pm in Amsterdam Concertgebouw Recital Hall, concert is organized by KAMconcerten.
