"Arvo Pärt: A Sacred Journey" in Sydney Opera House



On April 7 at 7 pm, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir under the direction of Tõnu Kaljuste will give a concert of Arvo Pärt’s music in Sydney Opera House Concert Hall. The choir’s musical partners on the stage are the Musicians of the Sydney Symphony and violin soloists Satu Vänskä, Kirsty Hilton and Veronique Serret. Program consists of Pärt’s most popular works: Magnificat, Spiegel im Spiegel, 7 Magnificat-Antiphonen, Tabula rasa, Fratres, Salve Regina, Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten and Adam’s Lament. Concert bears the title Arvo Pärt: A Sacred Journey and belongs to the Sydney Opera House’s new contemporary music series, The Composers.

Within the series, the concert takes place also on April 6 at 7 pm in opera house’s Studio, where Sydney Youth Orchestra will give the intimate performance of chamber music by Arvo Pärt: Arbos, Fratres, Quintettino, Festina lente, Spiegel im Spiegel, Summa and Mein Weg.
