Works by Arvo Pärt and Eduard Tubin with Estonian conductors in Netherlands and Sweden

In this and next week, Arvo Pärt’s Passio (1982) will be performed in six cities of Netherlands. Extensive work for soloists, mixed choir, instrumental ensemble and organ will be presented at the concerts of Nederlands Kamerkoor under the baton of choir’s chief conductor Risto Joost. Soloists are André Morsch (Christ, baritone), Elmar Gilbertsson (Pilatus, tenor), Dorothea Jakob (soprano), and Kaspar Kröner (alto), Albert van Ommen (tenor) and Kees Jan de Koning (bass) as evangelists. Instrumental parts will be played by members of Asko|Schönberg. Concerts at 8 pm will take place on:
March 19, Groningen (Der Aa-kerk)
March 20, Leeuwaarden (Grote of Jacobijnerkerk)
March 21, Rotterdam (Sint Laurenskerk)
March 22, Arnhem (Musis Sacrum)
March 23, Hague (Nieuwe Kerk)
March 26, Amsterdam (Westerkerk)

This week, Pärt’s music can be listened in Sweden as well, where Anu Tali will introduce Estonian music with Norrbotten Chamber Orchestra. Orchestra’s program consists of Pärt’s Symphony No. 4 (2008) and Eduard Tubin’s Music for Strings (1963). Concert features also young Estonian pianist Mihkel Poll who will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23. Concerts of Norrbotten Chamber Orchestra will take place at 7 pm on:
