Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Tõnu Kaljuste will give three concerts of Arvo Pärt’s music in Mexico. Program consists of composer’s well-known works through four decades: Fratres for violin, string orchestra and percussion (1977/1992), Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten for string orchestra and bell (1977/1980), Adam’s Lament for mixed choir and string orchestra (2009), Salve Regina for mixed choir, celesta and string orchestra (2001/2011) and Te Deum for mixed choir and string orchestra (1984–1985/1992).
In addition to earlier works, also a cappella choral song Virgencita will be premiered in Mexico.

The initiator of this Mexico tour is Mr. Agustin Gutierrez Canet, the Mexican ambassador in Finland and admirer of Arvo Pärts‘ music, who saw the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir performing Pärt‘s Adam’s Lament last year in Turku, Finland.
Concerts will take place on October 18 at Teatro del Bicentenario, León, October 19 in Teatro Juárez, Guanajuato Festival Internacional Cervantino, and October 20 in Palacio de Bellas Arte, México City.
