Warsaw Autumn, one of the most important international contemporary music festivals in the world presents Toivo Tulev’s ensemble work Gare de l’Est (1999) in its program. The piece will be performed by Aukso Chamber Orchestra conducted by Marek Moś. Concert will take place on September 24 at 7.30 pm in Witold Lutosławski Polish Radio Concert Studio, where also festival commission, Wojciech Blecharz’s Means of Protection will be premiered.

The 55th Warsaw Autumn takes place from September 21–29 and bears the title “Warsaw Autumn… with a voice”. That slogan alludes to music that uses text and stage action although feature rather an implicit text and ambiguous meaning.Voice – in the sense of voicing one’s opinion, only then followed by voice as singing. The programme, therefore, includes a variety of instrumental ‘spoken’ works and is also connected to non-musical means of expression.

Tulev’s music has been in the program of Warsaw Autumn earlier as well – ensemble work Swing Low was performed in Poland in 2004.
