Tõnu Kaljuste conducts concert of Pärt’s music in Oslo

On April 19 at 7 pm, Easter concert of music by Arvo Pärt will take place in Oslo Cathedral. Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and Norwegian Soloists Choir will be conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste. Adam’s Lament for mixed choir and string orchestra (2011), which Kaljuste conducted for the first time last summer in Istambul, will now receive its Norwegian premiere. Program includes also Mein Weg for strings and percussion (1989/1999/2000), Nunc dimittis for mixed choir (2011) and Stabat mater for mixed choir and string orchestra (2008).

Norwegian Chamber Orchestra have already collaborated previously with Tõnu Kaljuste and with Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir as well. Orchestra have been performed also in Estonia (2001) where among others Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Illusion was played under the baton of Terje Tønnesen. Oslo Cathedral is used for public events by The Norwegian Royal Family and the Norwegian Government.
