Tobias String Quartet will perform in Moldova and Ukraine

On April 20 and 21, Tobias String Quartet will give two concerts in Moldova and Ukraine. Violinists Maano Männi and Kristjan Hallik, violist Toomas Nestor and cellist Aare Tammesalu will perform music by Arvo Pärt, Rudolf Tobias and Edvard Grieg.

The first concert will take place on April 20 at the organ hall of Chișinău, Moldova. The second one will be held the next day at the St. Paul Church in Odessa, Ukraine. The program consists of Arvo Pärt’s “Fratres”, Rudolf Tobias’ String Quartet No 2 and Edvard Grieg’s String Quartet Op 27.

On April 3, the quartet gave a concert at the G18 Hall in Helsinki. Next to the String Quartet of Grieg, they performed Pärt’s “Da pacem Domine”, Karol Szymanowski’s String Quartet No 2 and the Clarinet Quintet A Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (with clarinet player Petri Judin).

The performances of Tobias String Quartet in Finland, Moldova and Ukraine were made possible by support of the Estonian Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
