Estonian National Opera Boys' Choir 40

In this season, the Estonian National Opera Boys' Choir celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The three jubilee concerts will be held in Pärnu, Tallinn and Tartu.

April 15 at 5 pm, Pärnu Concert House
April 21 at 5 pm, Estonia concert hall
April 28 at 5 pm, hall of Tartu University

The concert program includes choral works by Arvo Pärt, Urmas Sisask, Cyrillus Kreek, Felix Mendelssohn and Heinrich Schütz, in addition to the Estonian National Opera Boys' Choir the youth orchestra Reaalmažoor and Corelli Consort will perform at the concerts. The conductor is Hirvo Surva.
The second half of the concert presents a dedaction work to the choir- Powefull Song of Boys’ Choir [Poistekoori võimas laul] (librettist Aapo Ilves) by composer and alumnus of the Estonian National Opera Boys' Choir Priit Pajusaar.

The choir was founded as the Boys' Choir of Estonian national Male Choir in 1971 by Venno Laul, who remained its leader for 30 years. More than 10 years the choir was known under the name Estonian Boys’ Choir.
Since 2001, the artistic director and the principal conductor of the choir is Hirvo Surva. The choir masters are Maarja Soone and Andres Lemba, vocal coach Zoja Hertz, administrator Anne Ojalo. The study choir is dircted by Jaanika Kuusik and Kaili Inno.
