Estonian chamber music in Italy

On February 25, a concert of Estonian chamber music is held in Italy, Bergamo. The music is performed by Estonian pianist Diana Liiv and Italian musicians Marcella Moretti (cello), Cesare Zanetti (violin) and Edgar Cattaneo (piano). The program consists of works by Arvo Pärt, Helena Tulve, Urmas Sisask and Heino Eller, and includes the premiere of a new work for four hands piano by Malle Maltis. The piece will be performed by pianists Diana Liiv and Edgar Cattaneo. The concert is held at the St Alessandro concert hall in Bergamo.

Diana Liiv has studied piano at the Tallinn Music High School with Valdur Roots and has graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theartre in piano class of Peep Lassmann. After graduating she took further studies in Boston and Michigan, U. S, and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Since 2009, she takes regularly part of master classes of Prof. Konstantin Bogino in Italy.

Diana Liiv has appeared as soloist, chamber musician and with orchestras. She has successfully taken part of a number of international competitions and festivals. In 2009, she received the Kees Wiebenga award for excellent ensemble playing at Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival. In 2012 she was a double laureate – in soloist and chamber music category at international pianists’ competition Music Without Limits in Druskininkai, Lietuva.
