World premieres at Pärnu Museum of New Art

On Sunday, four new works will receive their world premieres at Pärnu Museum of New Art within the Pärnu Opera series Abonement 007.

Hans-Gunter Lock - 2012! for flute, clarinet, violin, cello and piano
Malle Maltis - Three Little Steps... In Unknown Direction for flute, clarinet, violin, cello and piano
Monika Mattiesen - Changing Direction for 2 flutes and electronics



New pieces will be performed by conceptual music theatre ensemble Repoo Ensemble: Kai Kallastu (soprano), Leonora Palu (flute), Edmunds Altmanis (clarinet), Kristina Kriit (violin), Aare Tammesalu (cello) and Jorma Toots (piano).

Concert is the finale of multimedium workshop of Pärnu Contemporary Music Days, that presented composers speaking of their composition techniques and discussing on possibilities of effectuation of new composition methods. The idea of multimedia workshop has been taking shape since 2007. This year’s workshop started a new period in the history of PCMD – its aim is theoretical and practical postgraduate contemporary music training for Estonian composers, interpreters and music theorists.

The concert of premieres will take place on January 15, at 2 pm at Pärnu Museum of New Art.
