Music of Ester Mägi at the concert in Germany

On December 11 at 6 pm, church concert can be listened in Erwitte, where chamber pieces of Ester Mägi, the Gand Old Lady of Estonian music, are on important place. Concert in Christuskirche will be given by Andreas Maria Marcus (guitar), Christopher Hans (tenor) and Philippos Tozakidis (cello), the program is subtitled as Englische Renaissance. Neue Musik aus dem Baltikum. Three young musicians will play Ester Mägi’s Cantus for cello and guitar and two solo songs on Viivi Luik’s text: Night and With Eyes Closed. Concert is therewith titled after the latter song. Baltic music – also Pēteris Vasks next to Mägi – varies with Renessaince music by John Dowland and Robert Johnson. The organiser of the concert, guitarist and composer Andreas Marcus has studied in Musikhochschule Münster under Prof. Reinbert Evers and currently works as a teacher in the same place and Westphalian School of Music in Münster as well.
