The Fourth Viljandi Guitar Festival takes place from September 13-18, concerts are held in Viljandi and Tallinn, guest performers at the festival are John Stowell (USA), Stian Westerhus (NOR), Risto Toppola (FIN) and Paolo Angeli (ITA). Also Estonia's best guitar players and music groups will step up: Laur Joamets Trio with Margus Kappel, Lembit Saarsalu Trio, the Weekend Guitar Trio and many others. The festival program includes also performances of workshops, student projects and Guitar Festival Orchestra.

Concerts Estonian Guitar Legends & Tallinn Chamber Orchestra will take place on Saturday, September 17 at 9 pm in the ETMC Granary in Viljandi, and on Sunday, September 18 at 5 pm at the Russian Cultural Centre in Tallinn. Tallinn Chamber Orchestra will perform together with Estonian guitar players Paul Daniel, Robert Jürjendal, Andre Maaker, Jaanus Nõgisto, Oleg Pissarenko, Riho Sibul, Mart Soo, Jaak Sooäär, Ain Varts and Ain Agan. Arrangements for the concerts are made by composers Tauno Aints, Paul Daniel, Jaak Jürisson, Robert Jürjendal, Tõnu Kõrvits, Andre Maaker, Oleg Pissarenko, Raul Sööt and Erkki-Sven Tüür.

The main partners of the Viljandi Guitar Festival are the Viljandi Culture Academy of Tartu University, Tallinn Philharmonic Society, Estonian Cultural Endowment and Viljandi City Government.

Luthier Day
The Luthier Day will take place on Saturday, 17th of September in the ETMC Granary. For the third time it will be possible to meet the best luthiers in Estonia, admire and sample their instruments as well as get acquainted with various learning materials for improvisation and guitar playing.
