Anu Tali conducts Lyon National Orchestra

On February 29 at 12.30 a.m. concert of Lyon National Orchestra with mezzo soprano Fredrika Brillembourg under the direction of Estonian conductor Anu Tali will take place in the Lyon Maurice Ravel Auditorium. Concert titled as „Cinéma en fête” presents works by Prokofiev, Shostakovich and Sviridov, including excerpts from Prokofiev’s music for the feature film „Alexander Nevsky”. Musical director of the Lyon National Orchestra that celebrated its centenary in 2005, is German conductor Jun Märkl.

Anu Tali (1972) has studied conducting with Jorma Panula (Finland) and Ilya Musin (Russia). In 1997, she an her sister Kadri Tali founded Estonian-Finnish Symphony Orchestra, currently – Nordic Symphony Orchestra, which CD "Swan Flight" (2002, Finlandia/Warner Classics) earned the German Echo Classic Prize 2003 within the category Young Artist of the Year. In 2004, Anu Tali was given the Presidential Award of Estonia. In 2006, Tali was chosen as the Musician of the Year by Estonian Radio.
