Estonian solo song in Suure-Jaani

On March 4, tenor Mati Turi and pianist Martti Raide will give a recital of Estonian solo song in Suure-Jaani. In the Home Museum of the Kapp family the best of Estonian solo song will be performed – songs by Artur Kapp, Villem Kapp, Eugen Kapp and Mart Saar. The programme also includes the beautiful romance "On the Forest Path" by Artur Kapp. As a musical surprise, Artur Kapp's song unknown up today will be premiered – “Sommerzauber” (“Summer Charm") on the lyrics of Wanda Sarepera, discovered by Martti Raide from the archive of the Estonian Theatre and Music Museum.

Mati Turi and Martti Raide have performed with ten different concert programmes in Estonia, USA and Canada. In December 2007, Estonian solo songs were introduced by the duo in New York and Washington. Beside Estonian music, their repertoire includes vocal works by Schubert, Schumann, Wolf and Sibelius.
The organiser of the concert in Suure-Jaani is Pärnu Filharmoonia, the supporters are the Estonian Ministry of Culture, Suure-Jaani City Government and Suve Auto AS.
