On January 10 and 11, Symphony No. 4

by Arvo Pärt premiered at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles. The new large-scale work was performed by Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra under its chief conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen. The program also consisted of Overture to

by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Piano Concerto No. 1 by Johannes Brahms (soloist Emanuel Ax).

Symphony No. 4 Los Angeles for large string orchestra, harp, timpani and percussion is commissioned by Los Angeles Philharmonic Association and is dedicated to Mikhail Khodorkovsky.
