Yesterday, on February 4, the Ministry of Culture of Estonia proposed to ascribe three honorary awards in amount of one million Estonian crowns to writeress Ellen Niit, composer Arvo Pärt and actor Aarne-Mati Üksküla for their long-term outstanding creative work.

Arvo Pärt, born in Paide and grown up in Rakvere, has made known his wish to donate the money to the children’s music schools in Paide and Rakvere for acquiring new instruments.
Aarne Üksküla has announced to share his award with the Association of Estonian Theatre Veterans.
