Tõnu Kõrvits’s new orchestral piece will be premiered in the concert tour of the Symphony Orchestra of Malmö Music Academy

On March 7, Passacaglia for symphony orchestra (2009) by Tõnu Kõrvits will be premiered in Sweden. New piece is commissioned by Malmö Music Academy and will be performed by the Symphony Orchestra of Malmö Music Academy under the guidance of British conductor Neil Thomson. The concert will take place at Malmö Concert Hall at 3 pm in the presence of composer himself. The program also consists of Symphony No. 2 in G minor, Op. 34 by Wilhelm Stenhammar and Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 26 by Max Bruch. Soloist will be Lithuanian violinist Vilhelmas Čepinskis (b. 1977).

On March 10, the same program will be performed at Vilnius Philharmonic Concert Hall. Estonian premieres of Passacaglia will be given on March 12 at 7 pm at Vanemuise Concert Hall, Tartu and March 13 at 7 pm at Estonia Concert Hall, Tallinn.

The concert tour is organized in cooperation with local concert agencies.
