On April 5 at 8 pm, Estonian mezzo soprano Iris Oja will perform in Jonathan Harvey’s opera Passion and Resurrection (1981) at Casa da Música in Porto, Portugal. Opera is written for 16 characters, chorus and chamber orchestra. Iris Oja will sing the third Maria, the other main characters will be performed by baritone Ivan Ludlow (Jesus), soprano Elin Manahan Thomas (Maria Madalena), soprano Alexandra Moura (second Maria) and tenor Mário João Alves (Pilatos). |
In addition to soloists, also Remix Ensemble, New London Chamber Choir and local choruses with Baldur Brönnimann conducting will participate. Concert performance of Passion and Resurrection will be performed with the presence of composer himself.
