Ensemble U: presents its first release

On Thursday, April 16 at 6 pm Ensemble U: will present its first CD titled "U: - uus eesti muusika" [U: - New Estonian Music].

The presentation will take place in two places at the same time, both in real and virtual environment, i.e. in Estonian National Opera winter garden and a transfer of it in virtual Estonian embassy, which is located in a web space named "Second Life" (www.secondlife.com), where users can log in from their personal computers.

U: is ensembled of six musicians commited to contemporary music, their first released CD brings together the best works composed for the ensemble in recent years. The album includes: "stream 2" (2009) by Helena Tulve, "1film" (2006) by Tauno Aints, "Miimiline partituur" [Mimic Score] (2005) by Andres Lõo, "Circles" (2004) by Tatjana Kozlova and "When the Buffalo went Away... " (2007) and "Mu nuttev hääl on sügistuul" [My Crying Voice is Autumn Wind] (2005) by Märt-Matis Lill.

The presentation will take place in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia and the Estonian Composers Union, the transfer to Second Life will be realized with the help of Maria Belovas, Edward Ekker, Allan Arjut and sound engeneer Tammo Sumera. The presentation will include two live performances:
Helena Tulve „Stream 2” for flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano and percussion (premiere of 2009-version)
Tauno Aints „1film” for flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano and percussion (2006)
